Christmas in Oglethorpe December 10

Christmas in Oglethorpe, December 10th, is right around the corner! We would love to have you join our parade. We welcome you and your children, vehicles, friendly dogs, horses and riders, and anything else you want to decorate for Christmas. The Sheriff will lead the parade and festivities begin at 11:00 AM. We will group people into the following groups in this order:
Group #1: Large vehicles and cars
Group #2: Floats and golf carts
Group #3: Dancers, walkers, dogs with walkers and/or carts
Group #4: All larger animals (goats with carts, horses and riders, etc.
Santa will bring up the rear!

We’ll have helpers to get you into the right place. If you are dropping people off to participate in the parade, you can drop them in the parking lot at the corner of Academy and Dupree St. Please do not come down Church Street as it gets too congested. Horses and other animals can wait in the parking lot at the Macon Coile Building (yellow low building) on the corner of Church and Academy across from the Meson Park.

Email me if you have any questions or would like to participate.

Thanks,

Christmas in Oglethorpe 2016

xmasoglethorpe

Mark your calendars for our annual Christmas in Oglethorpe Day in lovely downtown Lexington on the second Saturday in December–December 10th this year. We are always looking for vendors, so if you would like to participate, contact Linda Parish for a vendor application (tcrga@windstream.net).

As always, we’ll have our parade downtown and would love to have participants with interesting large and small vehicles, floats, children’s groups and parade animals. Last year we had horses and riders, dogs pulling carts and walking with owners, and even had a goat or two. As always, Santa will be joining us and be available to talk with the children after the parade at the courthouse. If interested in participating in this year’s parade, add a post here or send me an email (kathleendemarrais205@gmail.com).

We look forward to seeing everyone for this wonderful annual celebration.
